Start with an on-site assessment

Tell us which loads you want backed up, whether you have natural gas or propane, and whether you are installing a first generator or replacing an existing one. During the free assessment, we look at the panel, loads and gas supply, then recommend a system and provide a fixed written quote.

Our home standby lineup includes Generac Next Gen, Generac Protector and Kohler home standby systems. Capacity is selected for the loads and site; floor area alone is not a sizing calculation. See the current lineup.

One team for the installation

Alternate Power Solutions is a division of Static Electric Company, founded in 1986. Our electrical licence is EC13002031 and our gas contractor licence is #24513. The installation scope includes the generator, pad, transfer switch, electrical connections and the natural-gas or propane work specified in the quote.

Design and permitting come before installation. The site assessment identifies the proposed equipment position and access, fuel route and electrical work. Property-specific approvals and inspection requirements determine what is needed. Tell us about your homeowners association and bring any survey or approval requirements you already have.

Agree the scope and schedule before work starts

Permitting and project requirements vary. Ask the team to confirm the schedule for your property; an assessment is not a promise of an immediate installation. Keep a copy of the written scope and discuss any site-specific work or changes before proceeding.

Support after installation

The same business offers maintenance plans and standby generator repair. We also service supported systems installed by other companies, so you can contact us about an existing generator before deciding whether replacement is appropriate.
